Valheim Save Editor
Explore, repair and customize your Valheim character files (.fch), right in your browser.
Offline single-player only. This tool is for characters you play on your own. Please don't use edited characters on multiplayer or public servers.
What you can do
Save recovery
Repair a character file whose checksum no longer matches its data and download a clean, valid copy.
Your backup, your risk
The editor keeps no backups. Copy your original file yourself before replacing it: edits are at your own risk and can break a save.
Bug fixes
Fix stuck progress: restore lost recipes and discoveries, repair item durability and reset rare-drop counters.
Customization
Change your character's name, appearance, skills and inventory, and track achievement progress.
Where are my characters?
- Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\characters_local- Linux / Steam Deck
~/.config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim/characters_local- macOS
~/Library/Application Support/IronGate/Valheim/characters_local
Steam Cloud characters live in the characters folder next to characters_local. Your file never leaves this browser. Close the game and back up the original before replacing it with an edited copy.
Questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and written entirely in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
Which game version is supported?
Current Valheim character files (format version 47). Other versions are detected and left untouched.
Can I use it for multiplayer?
No. The editor is meant for offline single-player characters only.
How do I get my original character back?
Keep the original .fch file (Valheim usually also keeps a .fch.old backup next to it) and copy it back into the characters folder.
