Subnautica Save Editor

Explore, repair and customize your survivor on 4546B: health, food and water, the inventory, lockers and the Prawn Suit’s storage, blueprints, batteries and power cells, and the names of beacons and vehicles.

Offline single-player only. This editor is for your own single-player saves. It runs entirely in your browser: the files never leave your computer.

What you can do

  • Survivor

Set health, food, water and breath, refill the oxygen tank you wear and fade the Kharaa infection marks.

  • Inventory

See what you carry with the game’s own names and pictures, take items out and add any item the game has, from titanium to a stasis rifle.

  • Lockers and storage

Go through every locker, wall locker, waterproof locker and Prawn Suit storage in your bases: rename lockers, add and remove items.

  • Blueprints

Unlock or lock blueprints for the Habitat Builder, the Mobile Vehicle Bay and the fabricators, one at a time or all at once, and see the fragments you have scanned.

  • PDA databank

Unlock databank entries on creatures, plants, technology and the data downloads, section by section.

  • Batteries and power

Recharge every battery and power cell in tools, chargers, lockers and vehicles, and top up solar panels, reactors and the lifepod.

  • Names

Rename beacons, the Seamoth, the Prawn Suit and the Cyclops.

Where are my saves?

Steam
Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames\slot0000\
Epic Games
Epic Games\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames\slot0000\

Each save is a folder named slot0000, slot0001 and so on, inside SNAppData\SavedGames in the game’s folder (in Steam: right-click Subnautica → Manage → Browse local files). Open both .bin files of a slot: scene-objects.bin holds you and your inventory, global-objects.bin your bases, lockers and vehicles. Close the game before you copy or replace files.

With Steam Cloud on, Steam may put back its own copy of an edited save. Replace the files while Steam is closed, or turn Steam Cloud off for Subnautica first.

Copy the whole slot folder somewhere safe before editing. The editor doesn’t keep backups.

Questions

Where does Subnautica keep its saves?

In the game’s folder, under SNAppData\SavedGames\slotNNNN. For Steam that is usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames.

Which files do I open?

scene-objects.bin and global-objects.bin from the same slot. You can open just one of them; the editor then shows only what that file holds.

Is my save uploaded anywhere?

No. The files are read and written in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.

How do I put the edited save back?

Download it, then copy the downloaded .bin files over the ones in the slot folder, with the game closed. Only the files you changed are downloaded.

Which versions are supported?

Saves from the current Subnautica (the October 2025 build); saves since the Living Large update of 2022 are laid out the same way. Back up your save first: edits are at your own risk.
